It’s a dream of many comedians – to perform at the world famous Melbourne International Comedy Festival – or MICF for short. And why wouldn’t they dream?! Alongside the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, MICF is one of the three largest comedy festivals in the world. And in 2016, Australia’s largest comedy festival attracted 763,325 attendees. Making it bigger than the AFL Grand Final Series (558,343)!
It therefore made sense that we at the School of Hard Knock Knocks would produce our own MICF show, this year, in 2018. After all, we’re in the business of launching comedy careers. And Melbourne’s festival is one massive rocket!
So from April 5 to 15, on Thursdays to Sundays, 30 of the School of Hard Knock Knocks’ funniest Alumni will be performing at the suitably titled, “THE BEST OF” show. Each night, four graduates and MCs Ben Horowitz or Dave Ivkovic will be performing a one hour show.
And what’s more, if you’ve yet to graduate from the School of Hard Knock Knocks, but would love the opportunity to perform at the MICF, then you’ll be pleased to know that there are spots still available in our January 21 – 25 course. Graduate in January, and you’ll be able to sneak into the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2018 – as long as you are funny.
