Comedian Jo Willmott

Graduate Highlight: Jo Willmott

Our new Aussie comedian this week is Jo Willmott. Each week the School of Hard Knock Knocks highlights one of our recent new Aussie comedians who have graduated from our Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney courses.

Jo attended the February 2020 stand-up comedy course in Melbourne, with guest comedian Chris Franklin and resident comedy coach, Brad Oakes.

The School of Hard Knock Knocks stand-up comedy course runs each month from Sunday to Thursday, 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm and includes one-on-one coaching from some of Australia’s funniest stand-up comedians. Each course includes one-on-one coaching from our ‘resident comedy coach’, who include Brad Oakes, Glynn Nicholas, Ben Horowitz, Gerry Masi and Marty Bright.

The course also includes a night with a ‘celebrity guest comedian’. Guest comedians have included Matt Okine, Christine Basil, Steve Hughes, Dave O’Neil, and Richard Stubbs, just to name a few. Students then gradate on the Thursday night, alongside their celebrity guest comedian and in front of a huge paying audience. A high definition video of their performance is also filmed, and made available for securing future stand-up comedy gigs.

Furthermore, our new Aussie comedian graduates of the School of Hard Knock Knocks are invited to perform at Punchlines Comedy Club in Melbourne, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival – all paid!

Follow the School of Hard Knock Knocks on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to be informed of upcoming stand-up comedy courses across Australia.
