005: Comedian Chris Franklin – How one bogan became a successful ‘bloke’

admin 1 Comment

Australian comedian Chris Franklin is one of Australia’s most recognisable stand-up comedians. He also has an inseparable relationship with his flannel shirts. The self described bogan, who has performed his beer swilling larrikin humour all over Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Scotland and even war torn Afghanistan, is one of the most well recognised Australian stand-up comedians today, thanks to early success at Raw Comedy and, surprisingly, the ARIAs.

In this Hard Knock Knocks podcast episode you’ll hear how Australian comedian Chris Franklin didn’t let a private education get in the way of a solid working class upbringing, and how Chris avoids ‘writing’ comedy doesn’t when he’s writing new jokes.

Comedian Chris Franklin is also a regular celebrity guest comedian at the Hard Knock Knocks stand-up comedy courses. Comedy courses are run monthly in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Courses are perfect for both newbie comedians, who have never performed, and those wanting to polish their act ahead of competing at Raw Comedy.

And if you’re enjoying these podcasts, and would like to become part of a comedy community, we’ve launched our Hard Knock Knocks Community group on Facebook. It’s absolutely free to join and full of advice from professional comedians, and graduates of the Hard Knock Knocks.

But if that’s not enough, be sure to join our upcoming stand-up comedy courses in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Coached by veteran stand-up comedians, like Chris Franklin, the program includes a pre-class online course, and five nights of coaching. Graduates perform alongside a celebrity stand-up comedian and to a paying audience.
