Meet Your Comedy Coaches

Brad Oakes – Resident Comedy Coach

Brad Oakes Comedian

Brad Oakes is an actor, writer and stand-up comedian, who has worked on Australia’s most iconic comedy TV shows, including Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Comedy Company, Jimeoin, and Full Frontal. He has been performing stand-up comedy since 1989, and has performed on Rove Live, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, and in his own shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He has also directed other great comedians, including Corinne Grant, Lehmo, Geraldine Hickey and Harley Breen. Most recently, Brad was the guest comedian on the comedy documentary ‘Is This thing On?‘, to be aired in 2019.

Nikki Osborne – Guest Comedian

Comedian Nikki Osborne

Actor and comedian Nikki Osborn loves a scandal. Her Melbourne International Comedy Festival show, ‘On The Spectrum’ created huge waves in comedy, and resulted in her writing ‘Bad Barbie’ a year later.

If you’re tired of all of the modern day politically correct hysteria from the keyboard warriors and insufferable bores then you’ll love Nikki Osborne’s on stage and off stage banter!

Gavin Sempel – Alumnus

Gavin Sempel graduated from the School of Hard Knock Knocks in 2016. At only 18 years of age, he was one of the youngest students to attend our course. However, what Gavin lacked in life experience, he made up for in determination. Two years later, Gavin had performed over 300 open mic events across Australia, as well as winning the Victorian Raw Comedy Final, and coming runner’s up at the Grand Final at the Melbourne Town Hall.
