Meet Your Teachers

Ben Horowitz – Resident Teacher

Ben_Horowitz_headshotBen Horowitz has played every possible room imaginable, and some that are not. Over the past 15 years, Ben has performed to audiences as large as 3000, and as small as three. He’s performed at comedy clubs, RSL clubs, and music festivals, alongside comic greats, like Greg Fleet, Chris Franklin, Brad Oakes, and the Nelson Twins. He’s headlined and MCed, killing it on stage and also bombing. And that’s what makes Ben an ideal comedy teacher – he’s experienced the best and worst the comedy circuit has to offer.

Greg Fleet – Guest Comedian

Greg Fleet Comedian

Greg Fleet’s onscreen and offscreen behaviour has made him the iconic bad boy of Australian comedy. While he had a guest appearance in The Flying Doctors, he is more notable for killing long-term Neighbours character, Daphne, in a car accident (*high five*).  Since then Greg has over 25 acting credits to his name and has been a regular on the stand-up circuit, having performed and appeared on Full Frontal, Rove Live and Spicks and Specks. More recently, he has teamed up with comedian Jim Jefferies and Alex Williamson in the Australian cult-classic underground zombie comedy film Me and My Mates vs the Zombie Apocalypse. Most recently, he was a guest comedy coach on ‘Is This Thing On?

Nathan Brown- Returning Alumnus

Nathan Brown ComedianEvery month the School of Hard Knock Knocks invites an alumni to return and perform as the ‘middle bracket’, as well as share their experiences on the comedy circuit. The January returning alumnus is Nathan Brown. Nathan applies a very personal approach to his stand-up comedy, discussing life as a ‘non-dad’.
