Meet Your Comedy Coaches

Evan Hocking – Resident Comedy Coach

Evan Hocking is one of the few ‘nice guys’ of the stand-up comedy biz. A cross between Dave Hughes and Dave O’Neil, Evan is a regular comedian on the Australian circuit, regularly performing alongside Chris Franklin and the Nelson Twins.

Evan is a patient and generous comedy coach, supporting the growth of our comedy newbies over the five day course.

Greg Fleet – Guest Comedian

Greg Fleet Comedian

Greg Fleet’s onscreen and offscreen behaviour has made him the iconic bad boy of Australian comedy. While he had a guest appearance in The Flying Doctors, he is more notable for killing long-term Neighbours character, Daphne, in a car accident (*high five*).  Since then Greg has over 25 acting credits to his name and has been a regular on the stand-up circuit, having performed and appeared on Full Frontal, Rove Live and Spicks and Specks. More recently, he has teamed up with comedian Jim Jefferies and Alex Williamson in the Australian cult-classic underground zombie comedy film Me and My Mates vs the Zombie Apocalypse. Most recently, he was a guest comedy coach on ‘Is This Thing On?

Judy Stutz – Returning Alumna

Judy Stutz ComedianEvery month the School of Hard Knock Knocks invites an alumni to return and perform as the ‘middle bracket’, as well as share their experiences on the comedy circuit. The July returning alumna is Judy Stutz – one of the most recognisable open mic-ers on the Melbourne scene. Her bright red hair and infectious energy is a regular feature at rooms across the city, and Judy will be sharing her experiences, including her recent performance at the Melbourne International Comedy Show (MICF).

Judy was also a star in ‘Is This Thing On?‘ – a documentary about 10 budding stand-up comedians getting coached by some of Australia’s funniest comedians.
