Meet Your Teachers

Ben Horowitz – Resident Teacher

Ben_Horowitz_headshotBen Horowitz has played every possible room imaginable, and some that are not. Over the past 17 years, Ben has performed to audiences as large as 3000, and as small as three. He’s performed at comedy clubs, RSL clubs, and music festivals, alongside comic greats, like Greg Fleet, Chris Franklin, Brad Oakes, and the Nelson Twins. He’s headlined and MCed, killing it on stage and also bombing. And that’s what makes Ben an ideal comedy teacher – he’s experienced the best and worst the comedy circuit has to offer.

Richard Stubbs – Guest Comedian

Richard Stubbs’ comedy career spans 30 years. Starting at Melbourne’s ‘Last Laugh’ in 1983, and including a stand-up comedy career that has seen him perform in every comedy room imaginable including those in Montreal, Los Angeles, London, New York and throughout Australia, where he’s completed sell-out seasons at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

‘Stubbsy’ is well known for his radio career, initially on 3XY then Triple M, and then back to 774ABC, and has also appeared on television, namely Hey Hey It’s Saturday, The Midday Show, Tonite Live, Studio 10, and Today, amongst many others. But most importantly, he hasn’t lost any of his wit and charm behind a stand-up mic, performing his anecdotal comedy.

Lee Ton – SHKK Alumni

Lee Ton is a School of Hard Knock Knocks alumnus who has chalked up an incredible number of hours on the Open Mic circuit. He has a unique story, as a Vietnamese Australian and within his comedy he sheds light on his upbringing, while not being afraid of touching sensitive topics.

Lee is also an incredibly generous person, sharing insights and stories and helping you find your feet as a new comedian. Watch Lee Ton’s set by clicking here.
