Meet Your Teachers

Ben Horowitz – Resident Teacher

Ben_Horowitz_headshotBen Horowitz has played every possible room imaginable, and some that are not. Over the past 15 years, Ben has performed to audiences as large as 3000, and as small as three. He’s performed at comedy clubs, RSL clubs, and music festivals, alongside comic greats, like Greg Fleet, Chris Franklin, Brad Oakes, and the Nelson Twins. He’s headlined and MCed, killing it on stage and also bombing. And that’s what makes Ben an ideal comedy teacher – he’s experienced the best and worst the comedy circuit has to offer.

The Nelson Twins – Guest Comedians

Nelson_Twins_headshotThe Nelson Twins are one of the most unique stand up comedy acts in the world. Raised in rural New South Wales, they have been performing as a duo for the past 7 years. From their humble beginnings in 2006, the twins have fast become one of the most sought after double acts in Australia, dazzling corporate and club crowds alike with their cheeky humour. They’ve been on Australia’s Got Talent, The Footy Show, NBC’s Last Comic Standing and The Project. They’ve got a lot of to teach you.

Catherine Scullin – Alumna

Catherine Scullin is a School of Hard Knock Knocks alumna, graduating in 2017. Born in New Zealand, and now based in Melbourne, Catherine has a quick wit, and a hilarious self deprecating sense of humour. Catherine will be sharing her experience in the open mic scene, as well as perform as the middle bracket comedian at the graduation. The School of Hard Knock Knocks supports our graduates’ comedy careers upon graduation, by inviting alumni, like Catherine back to perform.
